How much does Smilers® treatment cost?
The cost of treatment with Smilers® dental appliances varies, on average, from €3000 to €5500. Some patients who only need mild treatment to correct minor problems may receive a lower price, which can start at around €2000.
Payment in several instalments makes you want to smile, doesn't it?
In most cases, you don't have to pay the full price for your Smilers® treatment in one go. When your dentist or orthodontist examines your teeth to determine what type of Smilers® treatment is best for you, they will also know how long the treatment will last. This way, they can divide the total price of the Smilers® treatment in order to offer you a monthly or quarterly payment.
How can the French Social Security* help me? *For French residents only
The cover for orthodontic care by the French Social Security varies according to your situation, and, more specifically, your age (under or over 16). However, it does provide some cover for adults and adolescents. For example, an initial consultation to determine whether or not treatment is needed will be covered by Social Security regardless of your age.
Diagnostic tests are also covered regardless of your age. It is the actual treatment that is subject to certain rules. For persons under 16 years of age, orthodontic care is covered by the French Social Security for a maximum period of 3 years, up to €193.50 per half-year. However, the French Social Security does not cover orthodontic care for adults, or, more specifically, for patients over the age of 16 (except in special cases).
Payment facilities to make it easier to straighten your teeth
For your Smilers® dental treatment, as for any other orthodontic treatment for adults, your practitioner has the option of offering you payment facilities. He or she can direct you towards several solutions depending on the monthly payments you are able to make and the duration of these payments as well as the total duration of the treatment. These payment facilities can also be chosen according to the reimbursement you will receive from your health insurance. In all cases, remember that health insurance reimbursements are made every six months. You must, therefore, make sure that you are able to pay the monthly instalments preceding each reimbursement.
And my private health insurance?
Some health insurance companies provide orthodontic care and/or supplement the French Social Security cover, whether you are an adult or adolescent patient. The amount or percentage of the cover varies from one health insurance company to another. So, if you would like more information on this subject, please do not hesitate to contact your insurer who will be able to give you an estimate, a package or a cover rate for your orthodontic care.
